New build v12, I think

Installed v12 of sailwave, and now, when I pick a boat class, it doesn't automatically put the
PY number in. Is this a fault, or have I got a setting wrong? Or do I need to point the new
sailwave at the PY list?

Hi, make sure you are totally up to date. i
confirm that you should still have that behavious, but, one of the
builds was broken in that respect…

Get back to me if you still think there is a probem after getting up to
date.

just check that the file location of the rating files is well set up. When a new version is installed the file locationis resetto default…

Same for the language files (locales)

Hi Guys

         The way this works changed a few builds ago, if you select the boat class from the drop down, no py is entered, if however you click on the blue waves next to the drop down and select the class from the resulting dialogue then the py is entered. Not a big deal, you just need to remember what to do.

Under Scoring System' / Rating System’, there’s a tick box `Auto Set Competitor Ratings’

I think that this has to be selected before the auto picking will work (and providing SW is set up to know where the rating files is).

The rating should set when the list box is changed

  • it works here OK - it didnt for build 11 but does for build 12. The
    auto feature can be dangerous for old series since it will load the new
    ratings so you need to be a bit careful with it. It was added so
    people could score the same series easily with different rating
    systems, but I still worries me a bit…

Colin,

The problem of different rating systems can be solved saving the rating files in sub-folders ratings/PY/, ratings/IRC/ and so on.

But the right path has to be set up everytime one is working on another regata in another rating system.

In the future it could be interesting to save the path in the data of the regatta…
