Installed fine on Windows Vista Business with all appropriate
patches & fixes for my set-up in place
Install under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Runs fine so far on my Vista set-up as above
Starts up and displays on Ubuntu VirtualBox installation but when I
try to select a series to open from either the recent series button
of File | Open recent series I get a a WINE Exception error (see

On XP, when publishing
results to default browser, get error `ShellExecute()
error code 2’, but it still does publish (using Firefox).

Subject: [sailwave]
new dev build 2.03 build 1
i've uploaded a new build as a development release - i
expect it top have some problems - seems ok here -
but…
it should be better with vista/windows7 as it changes
where the templates and styles etc are stored
(c:/datafiles) for vista/w7.
it also includes a new fixed ip address for RYA rating
uploads that could probably do with testing - seems OK
here.
I had the same problem on my Vista installation :-(
Colin is equally frustrated as he has moved data files to the
recommended location under Program Data folder but for some reason
the permissions for normal users are to restrictive, the \Program
Data\Sailwave folder & sub-folders need write permission for
normal users. Do you know how to set the permission?
Kind regards,
Huw

I’ll have a fiddle when I get home. Suspect I’ll be able to adjust as necessary. Presumably it’s something that will need to be setup through the program before it’s finalised for general use
Thanks

This problem occurred on the last version run on XP professional, unless we logged in as administrator. Eventually resolved by administrator changing property of program file (sailwave.exe) to allow sharing. It may or may not be relevant here.
To be fair - on linux a native programme would be the same - a user can have root rights (super admin) but you have to tell it you want to run the programme…
