new file problems

Yesterday I started a new file for a new series of races. I had no
problems entering the competitor information and the results for
three races. I had listed three fleets -- A, B, and C. When I tried
to score the fleets, the message said that C was invalid, and that I
should edit the fleet information. I couldn't figure out what to do
except change each person's fleet to one of the listings -- Fleet A,
Fleet B, etc. Now in the fleet column, it says Fleet A, etc. I
couldn't have it just A, B, or C as I had done in the previous
series.

The next problem came when I tried to publish. None of the data
transferred to either HTML or Excel. Only the header transferred.

This all worked fine the first series of races I did. Can anyone
help me figure out what I've done wrong? Thanks. Ann

Latest version has a habit of defaulting to that. When you hit
publish check all the options and make sure print series summary is
checked.

Have you created the fleet definitions via edit+fleets...?

Yes, I did. There are two of us doing the scoring, and we both had the same problem. When I look at edit+fleets, the A, B, and C show along with Fleet A, Fleet B and Fleet C.

Hi Ann,

Not sure I understand... but I do have a *terrible* hangover. In the fleet
list, by default the fleet names get created as "Fleet 1", "Fleet 2" etc,
you then edit them to be the fleet names you want to use. If a competitor
is in a fleet, s/he must have a fleet that matches one of the defined fleet
names... That's it really. Sounds like you have created 6 fleets...?

Regards,
Colin J
