I have just loaded the new version of saiwave and have experienced
the following problems.

New Competitors

When hitting the "new" button a blank competitor is set up but thge
imput box fails to come up.

When using the sailnumber wizard entrants who are in the system but
have not yet competeted (imported database from previous series)do
not appear in the entrants available.

I am in a pannic as we now heavily rely on the system and have 100
boats likely to be sailing at the weekend and wednesday so to
manually imput them would be a pain.

Any clues help etc Urgent

Hi Ralph,

Some additional information about your system may be of assistance in helping determine the lack of the New competitors input box appearing, especially operating system.

With regard to the second problem, this can be worked around currently by selecting View from the Menu bar then removing the tick mark against ‘Hide excluded competitors’. After scoring then remember to go to Edit menu bar and select Mark all sailed competitors as included’, this hides them again so they do not appear in the published results. Then the same thing for the next set of races.

Colin is aware of the problem and is looking at what has changed so he can ‘repair’ the functionality :wink:

The "New" button adds a line to the table, you have to double-click on the line to open the input box. Just loss of time. This could be an improvement...

For the second problem, I cannot reproduce the problem.
When the window is open, but you did not enter a number, nothing appears. Only when the first digit is entered all matching competitors are displayed.
Check also if imported competitors are not marked as excluded and if too many are to correct manually: Tools > Set Competitor Field > These competitors will be changed: All competitors > Field to change: Excluded > Set this value: 0 > [OK] > [YES]

issues as clearly you can click on the blank competitor and input
the data. I will try your solution for the other but i thought i
tried that last night but still had a problem. Is there a way of
reverting to the old version?

Thanks. This is temporary fix. Ie when i exclude competitors not
sailed (over 300 to save on printing) i then have the same problem
for the next race and have to repeat the fix.

A new version of Sailwave has been released which the release notes state has addressed the problem of excluded competitors not being found by the Sail Number Wizard.

Just finished downloading latest version and about to install.
