No keyboard input using wine on MacBook Air or Linux

I’ve been trying to get Sailwave to run on my 2015 MacBook Air with wine, either by itself, or with Crossover, or PlayonMac. I’ve also tried various distros of Linux using wine. I’ve been using the current version of wine, !0.0. I’ve also tried it on a 2009 iMac with Linux. The problem is always the same. Sailwave installs and launches as it should. But when I try to enter data, the cursor will move inside whatever box I’m entering in, but no text appears. On the iMac it was working well with Unbuntu 20.04 Game Pack that had wine preinstalled. Then the iMac crashed and I lost the installer for Game Pack. That was the only distro that worked. All the others, I’ve tried many, had the same keyboard issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Chad,
Firstly welcome to the Sailwave User Group forum.

Have you managed to resolve the problem? Unfortunately at some point WINE changed. :frowning:

There is a thread about there appearing to be no keyboard input. It seems that way because the text is white on a white background!

FYI - I have Sailwave running using WINE on openSUSE ‘Tumbleweed’ and Linux Mint.

Kind regards,
Huw

Thanks very much for the reply. No I haven’t solved this yet. It never occurred to me that the text was white. I’m currently running Sailwave on Boot Camp with Win 10.

After following the thread, that took care of the problem.
Thank you for your help!
