As a total novice at Sailwave I'm looking for a bit of help. Our club
rules specify that non starters score points equal to the number of
starters in the race with the greatest number of starters in the
series + 3.
Well I looked at the scoring codes and set DNC as "the number of boats
in the biggest start in any one race +3" which seemed to fit the bill.
However the DNC code now seems to report the total number of boats in
the series which isn't the same thing.
There is probably an obvious way around this, any help would be much
appreciated.
John
There is no variable for "largest number of starters in a race"... So automatise your request is probably impossible.
But you can do it manually by entering fixed points for DNC.

Setting DNC to
"Point or place of (the max number of boats that came to the start area
in any one race + N places)"
Seems to do what you want for me in a simple series..
What version of Sailwave?
It also depends on whether you have multiple starts in a race as to what
is the best option to use.
I do remember having a problem with something like this once before
though but can't remember exactly what it was.

Agree… You will also have to adjust the number each time largest number of starters increases.

Isn’t “Max Boats in race +” which is “(the max number of boats

for?

It sounds like it. Need to test it to make sure it works the way you want.
