Hi Guys
I have been having problems with ebay freezing and consequently I have been running various scans to check my system the result when running Norton Power Eraser is saying that sailwave.exe shortcut is “Bad” and should be removed. I have checked that I am running the latest Sailwave version. Can anyone help or comment on this please
Regards
Trevor
Hi Trevor - I am sure that there is no problem with the Sailwave file as long as it came from the official Sailwave.com web site. The trouble is that Antivirus programs often generate false positives.
If you scan it with other Virus scanners such as Microsoft’s own antivirus it reports as clean

You don’t say what versions you have of Norton or Sailwave. The false positive was reported to Norton last year and they agreed after investigation that it was a false positive and would correct it in their next release.
Sailwave has the ability to send emails using its own code (you don’t have to have an email client of your own installed) which is one thing that some anti-virus products can detect and they think this is a virus.
You can try this installer if you wish

Hi Jon
Thanks for your response I’m not up to getting too involved so I will take it as read that Sailwave is not a problem and not likely to be related to my initial issue anyway
Many thanks
