We have a situation where all races on a weekly basis count towards multiple series. This is typically 2 each week but sometimes can be up to 4.
I am in the southern hemisphere so our racing spans the Christmas period. We typically run a scratch and club handicap series for the whole season and a scratch and handicap series post Christmas. Thus after Christmas the results of each race must be entered into four series.
The quickest and easiest solution I can see at present is to load all of the finish data into a CSV and then load it into each of the series.
Are there other solutions to this problem? It would be good to be able to load the data into one series using the excellent tools available in Sailwave and then be able to export the data in CSV for loading into the other series but I can’t see anything that would allow the export of race data.
As I see it currently you have 2 options - May be some others will come up with more.
a) Assuming you have Excel you can export the race data to the clipboard from Sailwave and then simply paste this into a blank excel sheet and save it as a CSV. You can then import it into the other Series. Once you have done this a couple of times it becomes quite quick and straight forward.
b) You can copy your original file and delete all but the race you want and then use the Merge facility in Sailwave

Richard,
I’m from Sydney and we do the same type of point scores and I guess you have one fleet with different series. The best way is to call each point score a different Division I.e season, spring, summer or what ever and use a CSV file to upload into SW. We have six different point scores running concurrently for one fleet.

So if I understand this correctly you are entering the raw data into a CSV and then using this to upload to multiple series?
If so then yes this is a method that I have been looking at so good to know it works ok for you. I was trying to use the capability of Sailwave to do this for the first series and thus produce a file I could use in the other series as well by export/import.
What are your learnings from creating this CSV for loading into multiple series? One of the things that I see is that I need to include the race number in the CSV which is different for some of the series, eg season vs post Christmas. In would be good if the import wizard actually asked what race you wanted to load the data into.
In theory that should be possible with a small amount of editing the data in Sailwave to add the Race No. I do it regularly to import results into a series.
