I’ve been using sailwave successfully for several years, albeit for simple race series and club regattas, however, just came across an anomoly that has me scratching my head.
We have our Summer series running at the moment (20 race series over 10 weeks) and the SIs say OODs get scored average points which in sailwave scoring has been set up as equivalent to RDGa.
The issue I have is that we have a competitor entered who hasn’t actually raced but OOD’d 2 races.
For these 2 races he’s been scored 5 and 4 points respectively!
Looking at the 2 races, it seems that he has been given a score of (No of finishers +1) for each of the races he’s OOD’d.
I assume this competitor will race at some point in the series and I’m sure his OOD points will get resolved if he does, however, I’m just curious and I’m left wondering why that’s happened!
Hope my explanation makes sense and any insights very welcome.
Unless I’ve missed
something, I think you have a point, Stewart. I usually review
the latest series output before publishing and manually exclude
(hide) those who have an OOD score but have not raced. If /
when they do race they should appear again via the sail num
wizard.
Yep, I’ve seen that. Confirm it will recalc when the time comes. It seems a reasonable option.
On OOD points, what I would love to have is for the OOD points to show up in the series summary, but not in the display for the individual race. Sounds like a lot of hassle to code though.
