Our
sailing club has organized an annual ocean race for 200 boats divided into
several scoring groups. One scoring group
is ORC Performance Line and the formula for corrected time is c = (PLT * e) – (PLD
- d). I have not found a practical way
to solve this scoring rule using SW. In
principle the Custom rating formula concept is suitable for that but one
parameter is missing. The Boat specific
value PLT can be stored as the rating factor r in the Competitor data but how can
the value of PLD be stored?
Does
the concept of Custom formula include a hidden or “secret” parameter similar to
the rating factor r that could be used for storing the value of PLD? The
Competitor data includes a huge number of columns, so one could be released for
this purpose 
Any
better idea (except using some other scoring rule)?
