ORC rating File

Looks like the rating file system is tagged to boat class. Our small ORC Club fleet uses the ORC triple number system, where rating vary with wind strength. The six rating numbers are added in the individual boat registration tab, and it works just fine.

However, it would be easier to manage, and to share data between clubs, if we had a separate rating file. For ORC Club, ratings are set for individual boats. So could we have a file tagged to sail numbers instead of boat type?

No hurry, just an idea for the to-do list.

Thanks,

Hi,

You can create your own CSV ratings file now. You would have to use

the Sail numbers as the boat type and a different filed for the boat
type. The different wind strength ratings could also be incorporated
in the file. Sailwave handles use of different ratings for different
wind speeds when using US Sailing PY’s but do not know how would, or
if, works with ORC handicap ratings.

Jon will probably respond when he gets a few moments during his

business trip to West Caost.

Kind regards,
Huw
