Please can someone guide me on setting up Sailwave with Personal Handicap Ratings for each competing helm? I am familiar with Class Handicap Rating and scoring, but want to extend this to include personal handicaps too.
Hi - If you do a search of user group there are many posts on personal handicaps. Some pointers to search for that you might find useful are Dual scoring (Aliases). Using this you can dual score both a personal handicap and a normal handicap. Do you know how you wish to generate the personal handicaps. Is it something you want a committee to decide on and then make Sailwave use them or do you want to use a system such as the NHC where the ratings change automatically after each race based on the performance?

Thanks Jon. The dual scoring using Aliases is good as I need to score results firstly as a standard RYA PY handicap series, and secondly as a personal handicap (PH) series. Currently I need Excel for the latter. Each helm has a PH number that is the average of his most recent results from four races. If he has sailed less than four, a default (starting) PH value is substituted for each missing race. There are up to two races per day, and his PH is changed after each day’s racing ready for the next day’s racing.
Can I get Sailwave to compute the ‘achieved PH value’ for each race, even if I have to export to Excel to do the averaging?
