I can't find any significant information on how this works in the
previous posts so a few questions and a minor bug report.
1.What is the difference between the BCR and rating needed to win of
old. How does the BCR calculate
2. Is the BCR the basis for the personal handicap and if so how does
it update the rating for each competititor, and is it based on an
cumulative average of BCRs or just the last BCR generated.
Minor Bug: The system fonts in the drop down boxes are weird and
difficult to read, the font spacing seems to be too close. This is on
a Compaq Presario 3000, Win XP, IE6, Nvidia32
Can anyone tell me if there has been a reply to this email??
Cheers

BCR == old Rwin, it's the rating you needed to have to tie with the winner.

it update the rating for each competititor, and is it based on an
cumulative average of BCRs or just the last BCR generated.
Nothing is automatic as yet. There is an existing race specific rating
field. The Tools+AssignRating tools just facilitates populating this based
on an expression involving various items like the BCR of the previous race;
it is very very primitive and early days. Please do suggest more items for
inclusion in the expression.
Minor Bug: The system fonts in the drop down boxes are weird and
difficult to read, the font spacing seems to be too close. This is on

This will be Windows ClearType - MS do not recommend turning on ClearType or
any of the other font cleaning stuff for fonts under 10 point. Personally I
would run with no font tweaking at all.
We have the opening of our Summer Season Early October and I would like to have something to sort out some handicaps. At this point in time I would like to average the last three races and use that as the handicap for the next race.
How would I express that in the existing "Tools+AssignRating tools"??
Kind regards

Internal Virus Database is out-of-date.
Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
Version: 7.0.338 / Virus Database: 267.9.4/57 - Release Date: 22/07/2005
I've just ordered a brand new AHPC Flyer with Goodall sail and Saarberg
mast. Somehow I now have to occupy myself until it arrives in Oct. I feel
about 6 years old...
Just a quick note to enquire if there is any progress on the expression I requested.
Cheers Wayne

Just a quick note to enquire if there is any progress on the expression
I requested.
It's in 1.84 as a function called avebcr() that you include in the PH
expression - e.g. avebcr(3) is the average pf the last 3 bcrs. NB: it skips
results where there is no bcr (e.g. DNF/DNC) annd will search back until it
finds 3 (in this case) BCRs. If there are not 3 (e.g. at race 2) it's will
average those it can find. When assigning to race 1 the bcr, avebcr funtion
and last race rating all default to the default competitor rating.
