Personal Handicaps

Hi Everyone

Just started using Sailwave and wanted to know, can the program calculate a personal handicap for sailors on their performace in the club? If so, can you then score the series of races using this personal handicap? and how is this done?

Thanks

Brad,

For a past series, or several series, you can set Sailwave to show BCR for participants (BCR = Back Calculated Rating, or Rating to Win).

[View / Show Result Cells As / BCR ] - or F6

A normalised average of these numbers can then be used as a personal handicap for a subsequent series. Some `way out’ results could be excluded from the average.

By editing the result (click on the result 'cell') and using your revised handicap ('rating', under 'Ratings' tab). Note that you have the option of using this race rating for future races (unless you choose to revise it again) or just for the race in question.
