I am assuming that personal yardsticks are similar to personal
handicaps (that is not too many rums before a race); so I am
attempting to set the system to do both fastest times & personal
yardstick times for our results. There does not appear to be any
intructiosn (step by step or other). I have cleared last seasons
results, now want to know how to proceed.
For our Wednesday evening series (mixed dinghy fleet) I calculate
results for 2 'fleets': a personal handicap (PH) fleet and a
Portsmouth Yardstick (PY) fleet, the competitors in the latter (PY)
fleet being aliases of those in the former (PH) fleet (i.e. the
differences in the entries for the same competitor will just be the
handicap). I then score the fleets separately.
When setting up the 2 fleets, I do the PH first, then use 'New Like'
to create the PY alias for that competitor. Finishing times are
entered for the respective PH fleet competitors: the PY alias gets
these allocated automatically.
Does this help?
