Hello,
I've used Sailwave for years to score one design racing but have never had to score handicap races. I'm now in the position to score cruising boats using the PHRF time and distance handicap method. If someone could me walk through the setup and scoring steps, it would be a great help.
Thanks,

Hi Bob;
I’m the chief scorer for basin racing at Bluffers Park in Toronto, Canada. For our racing, we use PHRF Time-on-Time handicapping, but from what I can see, within Sailwave, the setup is very similar (actually easier) for Time-on-Distance.
The area you need to go to is the ‘Setup/Scoring System’ menu.
- go to the ‘Rating System’ tab and select ‘PHRF ToD’
I think that’s about it for the ToD setup. Although you should also check that the other fields in the Rating System are in-line with your posted SI’s (low point scoring, calculations for scoring codes, etc.)
If it’s a series you are setting up, there are some other things like the Discard profile and Tie Resolution to set up on the ‘Series Scoring’ tab with Edit Scoring System as well.
Hopefully you find this of some help.
Regards.
