Are plugins something one could write and attach to the basic Sailwave
distribution, or are they Colin's alone? Wondering if there were a
way to add a couple of reports using this feature?

Plugins are Colin alone. However in the development plan is a an entry to provide a reporting tool (Lua) access to the data held in Sailwave BLW files and allow individuals like you and me to produce our own reports.
What sort of reports are you looking to produce?

Thanks for your reply. It's my old ax still grinding away -- I want a
finish order report that I can get without changing publishing
parameters all over the place. I might write a little perl script to
do this, but if/when Colin gets around to giving us a structured
access method, it would be great.
There are probably other more important priorities, however, including
getting some time on the water?!
