PreRegistration

Been using Sail Wave for a short time. Switched from St. Pete's Scorer which was the standard in the area. Sail Wave did finish result the way we wanted for mixed fleets of lasers, c420s and Optimus, and the data entry for finishes was faster to enter. However, one nice thing (of many) in St. Pete's that is missing in Sail Wave is the ability to create "pre-registrations." The preregistrations allow us to capture a lot of information such as full address, email, etc. We enter all the information on registrations sent in ahead of the event. Then, at registration, we can have the entrants verify their information, especially spellings and sail numbers. Once verified the pre-registrant is moved into the event. No shows are not listed in the event and we have a lot of information that helps us to promote future events.
Just a thought,
Robb

Robb,

Some people use Excel to manage the pre-registration & registration
information then export the required information in a CSV file for import
into Sailwave for results processing! Colin has talked in the past of
having some form of 'database' behind the scenes (it is still in his long
term development plan link in case you have not seen it
http://www.sailwave.com/index.php?page=devplan), the database could be
something like MySQL, Microsoft Access or just some simple form of text file
holding data.

Kind regards,
Huw

Do you mean an on-line registration system so competitors can add themselves
over the internet?
