Preventing publication of DNF points on individual races

We have used the list of entries in last year’s series to populate this year’s series. Very much a list of possible competitors in the new series. This makes it quicker/easier to enter results as a competitor decides to compete. We have a list of about 16 for this year’s series and in race 1 of the series this year we had 10 entries , one of which was DNF.
The trouble is that when publishing results the 9 that finished scored 1 to 9 points but the DNF scored points based on the 16 possible entrants on the list.

  1. Is there any way to prevent the scoring of points for the DNQ as it is misleading as it may not be the points scored at the conclusion of the series.?
  2. IF we were to base them on the entrants in the particular race this would be misleading as they may change when the series is complete?
  3. Our Practice on completion of the series is to delete those competitors that did not compete at all in the series and then rescore the series: is there anything wrong with that?

Hi Mike,

You can accomplish this by changing the sailors that have not sailed in the series to “exclude”

When publishing, the sailors can be listed or not by setting the View-> Hide Excluded Sailors option.

Thanks Peter

Will try this

Found that changing the columns to not publish took all reference to points in the published result and only published Rank. hope this rank is for the one race only but will see next month

Its unsailed competitors you want to exclude.

Easiest way is to use the EDIT menu Set all unsailed competitors as excluded

(NB - You may need to Set all sailed competitors as Included at times (when a new sailor races first time)

The Little cross near Scoring System toggles then from been in view on main screen.

Brilliant bit of advice , thanks so much

had lots to do manually as each competitor has up to 3 aliases and easy to miss one
