Problem getting burgees to attach

I recently upgraded my sailwave files to 195 build 12. For some
reason, I cannot for the life of me get either the Event, and Venue
burgees I want to embed to a series file. I've beat my brain up for
the past hour with the series properties tab and have clicked on the
blue wave icon for both burgees and have even picked different logo
jpg files I have with no luck. Hopefully, I am just missing something
very minor here... Also, I have gone to the help page and gone thru
the steps to resize the burgees, but without them attaching to the
series what good is it to go thru these steps? HELP me
please!!!!!ahhhhh Thanks in advance, Rick

Rick,

  1. The burgee file is linked (not embedded) to the published results, seen when you view with a browser, e.g. Internet Explorer.

  2. If you post the results to a server, you must make sure that the burgee files are on the server, and that the linkage isn’t pointing to the file on your PC. In Sailwave, don’t enter c:\My Documents\My Pictures\burgee.gif, for example. Just enter burgee.gif or /(path)/burgee.gif , where path is the directory on the server.

Do you see the burgee(s) when you view your published results on your PC? Or do you just see a red x where the burgee should be?

Malcolm,
Thanks for the info…it helped me get to the right spot. No red X at all. Now that I can get the burgees to show, I find they are side by side, centered on the vertical mid-line of my page. Is this the program I’m using (195 build 12) doing this, or should they be displayed far right and far left at the top of the page???
Thanks again,

Rick,

The burgees should be on the left and right margins, as set by Sailwave. Not sure why its not like that.

Is your file on a server somewhere - send me the link and I’ll have a look, or email me the result file and burgee file(s).

Hi Malcolm,
     What I found out with the burgees(s) placement on the screen &
subsequent printouts, is that they can be "massaged" to some degree. By
double clicking on either of the burgee(s) you'll open up a pop up
screen for FORMAT PICTURE. Using the file tabs at the top we can adjust
the SIZE of that burgee, then change the location of it using the
LAYOUT tab. Once the LAYOUT tab is clicked I clicked on the "Square"
icon which enables the position buttons, allowing me to chose the far
left & right positions I had asked about. However, when I go to close
the screen it asks if I want to save the changes, but it does not. So,
I am still learning the ins & outs of sailwave.
Thanks again, Rick

Rick,

What program are you doing that with?

It shouldn’t really be necessary to change the layout - Sailwave produces html code lines that do the layout in a browser:

<img class="hardright" src="SAS_Logo.gif" alt="event burgee" />
<img class="hardleft" src="PSC_burgee.jpg" alt="venue burgee" />
However, I have found it necessary sometimes to change the image size - I do that with an html editor, e.g. MS Frontpage.
