Problem publishing files

Colin,

I have been using your program for about a year now to do all the results for Burghfield SC ([www.geocities.com/bscresults](http://www.geocities.com/bscresults)) and find it a brilliant program, however recently a very annoying problem has appeared. This started after I upgraded from version 'something' to V38 - I've just downloaded V39, but the problem still exists.

Previously, when I opened up a file, added the latest results, and then published them, the default file address to publish to was the same as the opened results file, it was just .htm instead of .blw. This was great, I just opened a file, did the results, and published them, without having to worry about what/where I was publishing to. Now, since downloading V38, when publishing "to an html file on your computer" the default file name is not the same as the opened results file. This is a real pain as it means I have to change the whole file address every time I do any results or ammendments. Why does the default file address to publish to not stay the same as it was last published to?

Am I doing something wrong or changed a setting somewhere without realising? Or have you changed something in the program somewhere? intentionally or un-intentionally? if intentionally, why? Or am I doing something stupid - is there an easy way round this problem?

Changing file names at any time can always be a risky buisness but as I usually do the results on a Sunday evening after sampling the club bar I would be very greatful for any thoughts you have on this problem!!!

Thanks for your help

                Nygel Gardner

Hi Nygel,

There was a problem with this because I can remember getting fed up with it too but it seems to work OK now; I just tried it. Are you saying that after publishing to a file path/file X the next time you publish the same type of report - e.g. results that the path, Sailwave does not default to X as the path/file?

Regards,

Colin

Colin,

There seems to be a printing option that has gone missing! You implemented an option in a previous version whereby when publishing the results of individual races one could suppress competitors that were DNC in that race. The check box option seems to have disappeared in SailWave 3.9b2. This was a very useful option that you kindly implemented for me.

Am I missing the new location of the option in SailWave 3.9b2 or has it indeed gone missing?

I look forward to your help.

Kind regards,

As I understand it, that option was only needed because the ‘exclude competitor’ facility was not available. Now that it is, I took the original quick fix out. The philosophy now is that you can have as many potential competitors in the series as you like - then you mark the ones that are actually competing in the series as included - with Sailwave only scoring/publishing included competitors. I figured that one would not want to remove any included competitors from any published results if they were actually in the series… Can you remind me why it’s useful - if you exclude DNCs doesn’t it create potential confusion?

Yes, this is exactly what I’m saying. It may be a setting lurking deep inside Windows, but it only started after downloading V38??? Nygel
