Problems installing and open SW2.xx

We have a big problem installing SW 2.xx in the sailclubs labtop. No
problems on my own PC.
The labtop is using XP and SP3 and is updated in every way.
Installing is always successful, but, when I try to open Sailwave,
the following message appear: "The program could not initialize
correct (0xc0150002)".

In the errorlog-file one can find the following:

• Program-pop-up: sailwave.exe - Program error: The program
could not initialize correct (0xc0150002)

• Depended assembly Microsoft VC80.CRT could not be found. The
referenced assembly is not installed on your system

• Resolve Partial Assembly failed for VC80.CRT. The referenced
assembly is not installed on your system

• Generate Activation Context failed for
C:\Programmer\Sailwave\lua5.1.dll error message: The operation
completed successfully.

The "source" for the messages in the error-log is "SideBySide".

In my own PC one can find a lot of files named VC80.CRT….. and none
in the labtop. I have tried to find solutions in Microsoft news-
groups and downloaded different things, but noting helps. It seems to
be a problem in programs made in C++.
Sailwave 1.95.xx opens without problems.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution?
We have used Sailwave for more years now, and are very happy about
it. Thanks to Colin for the great program!

Jens

Does anybody else have this probolem with XP SP3

Jens, try deleting sailwave.exe.manifest from the sailwave install
folder? or copuing a vc80.crt to the install folder.

Colin!
Thank you for the answer. I have tried your suggestions in different
combinations without success. I have also tried to put an msvcr80.dll
into the Sailwave install folder. The same pop up "The program could
not initialize correct (0xc0150002)".
Maybe it is a registry problem? I will look for a registry cleaner one
day. In fact, there is two month to the season starts and wee can use
1.95B11. But – it would be nice with the newest Sailwave program.

Jens, have you tried v2 build 1 - that doesnt
have Lua compiled into it…

It’s not a generic SP3 problem - some users are using SP3…

Colin!
Thanks! v2 B1 opens without problems except the problem, that a lot of
my private, and very good :-), Danish locale has changed to English
text. None of the button labels are translated now, but it is another
problem. It started with a few buttons in ver. 1.95 B12.
Maybe the problem will disappear in ver. 2B3?
Best regards
Jens
