Hi:
I posted results at www.lorc.org/Regatta.htm.
I have had three people tell me that they can not see the results.
I use Netscape, but have also checked IE6.0 and it works fine for me.
Does anyone know why some people are having a problem? Is is an
Active x or javascript problem?
Great software, I can't wait for the Start time fix as I am scoring
multiple handciap and OD fleets under IRC, PHRF TOT and OD.

I don't understand, the Sailwave results are CSS2+HTML, no javascript or IE
specific toys. If they are using IE6 they should be able to see them. What
are they actually seing> blank page or errors - what does the content of
right-click+ViewSource look like?
Also, are they having problems seeing your results page or the Sailwave
results having clicked on one of the links on your page?

Just had a look. I see a complete blank when I click on those links at
www.lorc.org/regatta.htm.
Looking at the html...
I think the problem is the line <!-- style classes used in this template but
not assumed by sailwave{ }
Delete this, and it's OK.

Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
Version: 6.0.707 / Virus Database: 463 - Release Date: 15/06/2004
The problem (I think) is that in the LORC version the comment line ends with
{ } instead of -->, and the effect is that all the rest of the html file
is commented out - hence the blank. When I publish results myself using
Sailwave 1.55 the line appears as
<!-- style classes used in this template but not assumed by sailwave -->
Don't ask me why some people can see the text and some can't. I'm using IE6
on WinXP.

Yes I am using IE6 6.0.2800.1106 as well, on Windows 2000, if it matters.

Just had a look. I see a complete blank when I click on those links at
www.lorc.org/regatta.htm.
Looking at the html...
I think the problem is the line <!-- style classes used in this
template but
not assumed by sailwave{ }
Delete this, and it's OK.

Hi John,
I don't understand, the Sailwave results are CSS2+HTML, no
javascript or IE
specific toys. If they are using IE6 they should be able to see
them. What
are they actually seing> blank page or errors - what does the content of
right-click+ViewSource look like?
Also, are they having problems seeing your results page or the Sailwave
results having clicked on one of the links on your page?

Colin, John, etc -
The problem (I think) is that in the LORC version the comment
line ends with
{ } instead of -->, and the effect is that all the rest of the html file
is commented out - hence the blank. When I publish results myself using
Sailwave 1.55 the line appears as
<!-- style classes used in this template but not assumed by sailwave -->
Don't ask me why some people can see the text and some can't. I'm
using IE6
on WinXP.

Hi Hugh,
That rings bells, I'm sure I removed that line from the templates years
ago!! Obviously not
I'll sort it out this end.
John, in the interim - you need to edit your HTML files as
suggested by Hugh
and edit the templates in Sailwave/templates to remove that line, so that
further publishing will be OK. Alternatively do the latter and republish
those results that are up there.
Thanks for the feedback John and thanks for the fix Hugh - I hope you're
around when I do the major publishing revamp...

I have no problems viewing the results using Microsoft IE 5.5 SP2 + security
patches running under Windows 2000 SP2 + security patches as
non-administrator.

Colin:
I just installed the latest version over top of the old version.
I have done this for at least the last 5 updates.
I will edit the line and ask the 3 people who had problems to see
if it is fixed.
Thank to all of you for the help.
Great Service.
Yours
John Crawley
