I have downloaded Sailwave 2.9.7.1

When we are using rating in our race, the publish result in excel presented incorrect values.
Finish time entered as 16.02.40 are presented as 16.02.1940 in excel publish result.
It seems like it random add two digits in front of the seconds, but this don't fit all the time.

That’s Excel for you. It is trying to help by interpreting X.Y.Z as date (day.month.year) rather than time (hour.minute.second). Some entries are not valid dates and are left alone but whenever it gets a valid date it converts the value to an Excel date and shows it with a century on the year, with years above about 40 being assumed to be back in the 20th century.
You might be able to fix that by changing the date and time delimiters in Windows international settings so “.” is a time delimiter but not a date delimiter.

Hi Kjell,
Looks to me like Microsoft is trying to be clever and interpret the
finish time as a date; although not consistently as you said. I have
found Microsoft Excel does things when opening files created by
other applications that are not what one would like/expect, they
think they know best!
Have you tried using either LibreOffice Calc or OpenOffice Calc
instead of Excel 2010? I have found that LibreOffice Calc does not
try to be clever. Also if you change to publishing to Word what
appears, doing this could confirm or not my suspicion that Excel is
trying to be to clever.
Kind regards,
Huw

Hi Kjell,
I think Ian and Huw are correct in that it is Excell trying to format it as a date for you.
I don’t know what country you are in and what the locale for the time separator is.
Excel is generally better if you have a “:” as the separator for hrs:mins:secs. Sailwave will let you use either. Did you use a “.” as it was easier to enter? Is a “:” separator acceptable to you?
If the “:” is a solution for you let me know and I’ll supply you a small program to change all your times to the “:” format

Hi Jon
Thanks for the support.
I'm in Norway
By changing settings in windows, the additional figures in seconds have been correct.
But Excel has problem sorting time with "." separator, so by having ":" separation in publishing result in Ecxel I believe the problem is solved.
Is there a setting for it in Sailwave?

Hi Kjell,
Sailwave stores whichever format you use for entry. Although if you use the latest version of Sailwave and enter your times through the sailno wizard it will default to a “:” if you do not enter anything. If you enter a . it will use the . as the separator.
If have just written this simple program to convert times using a . Separator to a : separator. I guess a lot of other users may also find it useful for converting their older files or where users still like to enter the “.”

Hi Kjell,
Did you do a rescore. I didn’t change the corrected or the BCE as these are rewritten to the input format when you score or rescore.
So if you do a rescore after having run the program the corrected and BCE times should also have the “:” separator.
