I asked about this a while back and, if there's a way to do it, I've
since forgotten...
Can we suppress the 'Contents' and/or 'Scoring codes used' when
publishing? These tend to take up valuable real estate when printing
results.
Thanks,
Kett

I think Kett meant the published content - there
is not at the moment but ill add somehting to 2.00. I want to
completely redo publishing to you can design your own forms etc etc…
May use a 3rd party tool but I dunno what yet. Any recommendations
would be useful…

Hi Colin
I believe the correct approach here would be to have Sailwave just write plain tables, and reference a css file, which it expects to find alongside the html file. That would allow users to create css files to achieve the required look and fell. Users who created css files could post them as examples for others to use.
cheers
Tony

Colin,
I think there is a misunderstanding.
There may be a problem of additional pages printed as the "Scoring codes used" table takes several lines.
The option not to display the information, or to display in a single line, should be in the PublishResults window.
For those with some knowledge of HTML, it's quite easy to remove the table or reduce to a single line.
Another comment about this table. When the style alternates odd and even lines (for instance Blue Blocks) with slightly different colours, the style is atached to a code, not to the posittion of the line. So when codes displayed are DNC, DNF and OCS, DNC and DNF are displayed with blue background, light grey for OCS. Best count the lines...
Further, I have problems with Blue Blocks as styles for th and .even, as a comma after the style names makes it unreadable for Firefox
A more contrasting style could be defined for the table headers (I use to amend to: th {background-color: #448; color: #fd0} ), and I prefer lighter backgrounds like #eef and #ddf for odd and even lines
A module allowing to define custom styles is welcome..;
Phil

Hi Colin
Any recommendations would be useful…
My recommendation/plea is to follow the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid)
It’s great to read the many posts on the possibilities to edit output layout but I suspect that I am not in the minority when it comes to understanding how to do it or what on earth it means
It may not be possible, but something that could be set up in Microsoft Excel or an MS Word table & then imported to SW (a la import/export results & data) would be brilliant
If this is not possible, could we have a library of layouts set up by various SUG users which we can select & download to our copy of SW
Regards
Ralph

Hi Tony,
Thats what we have now… But very few people create their own
styles. I was thinking more about this sort of thing: not that all the
contact info is in Sailwave inclusing a photo it’s not unreasonable to
expect a user to want to print ID cards for example. Currently, while
you can create styles to change the HTML I generate, the HTML is not
under user control…
One of out work products uses List and Labels for example…

Thanks, Colin.
Here is a partial workaround I found:
.contents, .code, .desc {display: none; }
Also, It's probably right under my nose, but is there a listing
somewhere of all the CSS tags for SW styles?
Thanks again,
Kett
No - only implicitly in the output itself.

All fixed in 2.00 build 0.7 - not uploaded yet.
nb: you can define your own styles (by hand) now - anything that you
put into the My Styles folder (which you can speficy form the global
options) is included in the list when publishing. Ditto templates in
the Publish menu. If one of your filenames is the same as one of my
file names, your template/style is used, so for example, you can
override the results publishing template to hardwire logos etc etc.
Thanks for the detailed feedbakc - appreciated.

Another request for publishing: Allow the 'published day or date' to
be included with the individual race table title or caption, not just
in the series summary table headings.
This seems like a necessity for publishing an individual race result.
That
would be a boon to those of us who score several fleets that race on different
days. We publish results where fleet 1 may have raced “race 1” on one day and
fleet 2 raced “race 1” on a different day. We have never been able to identify
the races by date except by keeping track and posting separately a table that
matches races with dates for each fleet.
Thanks!
Will
