Is there any software which will take the sailwave results and churn

Hi,
Is there any software which will take the sailwave results and churn
the data through the RYA's YR2 calculations to get revised PY numbers?
There was a tool in 1.57 to do it for a single class and series. I hopt to
put it back and get it to work for all classes in a series and hopefully
over N series as part of getting 1.8* readu fro public release.

Colin, I'm using v1.57. Do you mean the tool has been removed or am I
just not looking in the right place for it?

Hi David,
In 1.57 its under Tools+RatingEsimator - its a generalised (for any rating
system) YR2 calculation but it only does it for one class at a time. This
means that all calculated values are relative to eachother and not rooted to
anything, so if you use it for the basis of a YR2 returen (overaged over a
number fo series aay) you need to normalise all ratings to an existing
primary rating like a Laser.

Colin,
I did ask the question with a YR2 return in mind. Could you confirm
that it follows the YR2 calculation method, deleting poor performers,
etc, albeit for a single class?
Regards,
David.

Guys,
Attached is a speadsheet I created for working out performance indicators using the YR2 method.
It is set up for 20 yachts over a series of 6 races.
To use open the sailwave series you want to analyse.
Select Viewing corrected times from the scored series.
Set up the export colums to the same as the column list in “EntrySheet”, ie
Rank
Flight
Boat
Class
SailNo
Helm
PY
R1
R2
R3
R4
R5
R6
Total
Nett
Notes
Now save the results to an html file and open it.
Select all of the results in the series summary with the mouse (races show corrected times for the boats for each race), being careful to only select the data and not the headers and hit control + c to copy it to the clip board.
Now click on the speadsheet and select the top left cell in the outlined area on the “EntrySheet” sheet.
Once selected press control + v to paste the clipboard contents into this region.
Select “PSheet” to see the Handicaps that each boat sailed to for each race, based on teh YR2 calcs.
Select “PerformanceIndicators” sheet to see the variation from their current handicap.
Save this as a new spreadsheet so that the original can be used as a template for the next set of races.
The paste from Internet Explorer to OpenOffice’s Spreadsheet works fine, but I’ve not done this with Excel.
.
I’ve copied this directly to Colin, should the group not forward the attachements.
Regards,
Andy.
