Hi trying to set a qualifaication profile of 30% for a series. Have tried s*0.3 but get return of this is not an expression, as the instructions for discards are the same “s” for races sailed not sure of problem and internet search has not been successful. Help would be appreciated.

Hi Ian,
try
(s*3/10)+1
Sailwave essentially uses integer maths and rounds down to
nearest whole number hence the +1
Kind regards,

Hi Ian,
Apologies the reply earlier was without access to Sailwave. I
have now checked and your equation of (s*0.3) is OK. But need to
remember the +1 I added as Sailwave rounds down to the nearest
whole number.
The message you get if if you click the Sigma sign to the right
of the box, if you click the cog icon it shows the ‘results’ of
the expression you entered. So just click OK when you have the
expression set that meets your needs and ignore the message that
shows when you click the Sigma icon.
Kind regards,
Huw

Hi both thanks for the replies following your advice to ignore the message when clicking the Sigma sign, I finally got the answer I needed, Had been trying to set a 1 in 3 races to qualify which works with s/3. Any insight on why the Sigma sign works with Discard profile and not the Qualification profile.
Thanks
Ian
