Qualifying option

Hi

I am investigating the possibilty of excluding entirely the results of
boats that have not sailed x% of the sailed races. Having tested the
qualification profile control I find that this seems to exclude the
boats only from the overall results, not from the resutls as they
progress thropugh the series. The purpose of the excersise is to
exclude the occassional "hot shot" who turns out for the odd race in a
club series. If he comes first in that race (but sails less than the
required qualification x%) I want to completly ignore his first and
promote those below him accordingly.

Is there a way to use the qualification profile to acheive this, or is
there some other way?

Many thanks

Chris

30.2

The new RRS 2009-2012 rules are now available online.

Rule 30.2 has been clarified so that it is clear that a competitor can incur multiple Z Flag Rule penalties of 20% in a single race.

Currently SailWave only allows a single scoring code per race, so does not allow multiple Z Flag and Scoring Penalties against a a single competitor. Is there any plan to fix this?

Scoring a boat as 40% penalty does not always result in the correct score when rounding occurs. For example in a 12 boat fleet 20% is 2.4 which rounds to 2 pts; a 40% penalty is 4.8, which rounds to 5, when it should be two, 2 point penalties.
Z Flag Rule
If flag Z has been displayed, no part of a boat’s hull, crew or equipment

shall be in the triangle formed by the ends of the starting line

and the first

mark during the last minute before her starting signal. If
a boat breaks this rule and is identified, she shall receive, without a

hearing, a 20%

Scoring Penalty calculated as stated in rule 44.3©.
She shall be penalized even if the race is restarted,

or resailed or
rescheduled, but not if it is

postponed or abandoned before the
starting signal.

If she is similarly identified during a subsequent attempt
to start the same race, she shall receive an additional 20%

Scoring Penalty.

Also worth noting that Rule 44.3(c) specifies how the penalty is to be applied: i.e. the boats below her do not move up, and there is a maximum 1 less than DNF. As a special treat for people who love to complicate things, you can even change Rule 30.2 or 44.3 in the SIs.

Can anyone tell me the required file format for displaying Club and Event Burgees on the results?.. .jpg doesn’t seem to work.

*.jpg does work with Sailwave produced results!

The normal problem is that the linking is wrong, e.g. you upload the results to a web server, but the links point to burgee files that are still on your PC.
