Race Tie Issue

Start:Start 1, Finishes:Place
Rank Place Points
1 1 1.0
2 2 2.5
2 2 2.5
4 4 4.0

Believe they should both be scored as 2 points and no one with 3 points,
but can see nowhere to amend it.

Have another series (that i thought was constructed the same) and it
behaves as expected and scores 1,2,2,4.

Any ideas please?

As others have pointed out, the normal method is to average points.

It can be changed if required by selecting Non - standard race tie resolution' under Setup’ / `User Interface’ - options are Shared Points or None (other than average points).

The result is calculated correctly in accordance with rule A7.

A7 RACE TIES

If boats are tied at the finishing line or if a handicap or rating system is used and boats have equal corrected times, the points for the place for which the boats have tied and for the place(s) immediately below shall be added together and divided equally. Boats tied for a race prize shall share it or be given equal prizes.
