Hi Chris,
Try these steps:
1. close sailwave.
2. delete c:\program files\sailwave\rating.txt.
3. using mycomputer navigate to the rating.txt you downloaded.
4. right-click on it and select copy.
5. navigate back to the c:\program files\sailwave folder.
6. right-click and select paste.
7. start sailwave and look at the rat lib.
When you double-click on rating.txt from mycomputer it will open the
file with whatever application is associated with a .txt extension -
that is usually notepad - so you can double-click on it at any time
during the above to check content. i.e. check the content of the
downloaded rating.txt first and make sure it contains what you would
expect.
Regards,
Colin

Hi there yes rating.txt is in the same folder as the EXE file. Am
using ME. if I enter ratings manually then double click the wavy
lines next to the Ratings library location then navigate to the
location I will then find the ratings that I have just typed in under
note pad.
If I then go to the location where I saved the ratings download
copy and paste or try to overwrite the file it comes up with nothing,
it asks me if I want to overwrite the file but when I open the TXT
file Under C:\Program Files\Sailwave\rating.txt it still shows the
ratings that I typed in previously. If I browse to another location
for my rating library e.g.: the one that I downloaded using the
browse function it automatically opens the file as a text document
and doesn't show the different location in the box with the Ratings
library location. perhaps it would be easier for me to just type the
ratings in.

Some things to check: Is rating.txt in the same folder as
sailwave.exe? If you open rating.txt from MyComputer does it look
OK? Do you have more then one installation of Sailwave? Just out of
interest are you running XP? CJ

The file should be save as rating.txt (singular). Does that
help? CJ
