RDGa scores in ver. 1.56

This is my problem scenario:

I need to award a skipper RDGa points for they relinquished racing to
provide RC duties. Four out of six races are being scored (two races
were cancelled), the skipper has DNC, 6.00, DNC, DNC for a total of
48. (DNC's=14 for the series) When I input RDGa to replace the
first DNC, Sailwave comes back with "Recorded place must be positive
numbers". I tried an alternate method of RDG Set points by hand
using 12 for points and come up with the same result code.

The same error is coming up in a series for which all races are being
scored but there is a similar frequency of DNC for 3 or 4 out of 6
races. Is this a bug that has been addressed?

Dan,

There is a more appropriate code of OOD to use for those who are top be
awarded points for doing Race Team or other race management duties instead
of racing.

OOD code can be set to one of several values under Edit | Scoring ... then
Scoring Codes tab followed by selecting OOD and then clicking edit.

FYI - at my club we use Average of all races not scored DNC

Colin,

Thanks for the advice. Hugh's advice of OOD solved the problem.

Huw,

Thanks for the advice of the OOD code. It works.

As for the scoring system, DNC's are in for that is what's prescribed
in the SI's. I can only go by the rules no matter how much I might
disagree.

Dan
