Hi Everyone,
So my laptop crashed in August with all the sailwave data on it for our 2017 summer racing series (yes I didn’t have a backup). So I’ve been wondering if (short of re-entering the race data for 4 months of racing) if it’s possible to just enter the individual series totals for the racers as a race and then enter the race data that I have for the remaining races? The only concern I see is what will the programme do with the race totals regarding drops. Any suggestions? The data can be found at: file:///C:/Users/User/Desktop/Sailwave%20results%20for%20TWC%20Wednesday%20Night%20Series%202017%20at%20Toronto%20Windsurfing%20Club%202017.html
Alternatively go to Totonto Windsurfing Club, click on Programs and Events, then cluick on Wednesday Night Racing (www.twsc.ca)
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Nick Cox
Hi Nick,
The link you included in your post is a link to a location on your own PC so I can’t see that.
Looking at the website I can see twc-wnr-overall-results.html on the site
Probably the best you can do is convert this to a CSV file and then import into Sailwave using the File - Import Series from CSV
You can export a table from the HTML to Excel using https://codepen.io/kostas-krevatas/pen/mJyBwp - There may be easier ways that others can suggest but this works for me.
Then use some commands with in Excel to remove any scores e.g. replace 18.0 DNF with DNF then save the excel file as as CSV and use the import series from csv.
Some things such as titles and any special scoring codes would have to be set up
I’ve attached a sample which I recovered using this technique of the Raceboard from your website.
A little tip for the future is to always save your Sailwave files in a Dropbox folder so that way you always have an online backup and as dropbox keeps copies for 30 days even if you something silly with the file you can go back to an earlier file.

Hi Jon,
Thank
you for your help, everything worked out fine except for the race dates
and times. Sailwave sticks them in as a competitor field and then doesn’t recognise them as a field when I hit ‘Score Series’. Short of deleting all the dates and times and then ree-entering them, I’m not sure what to do. I couldn’t open the file that you had attached. Sailwave denied me access.
Cheers,
Nick Cox

Hi Nick,
Yes you will have to enter the dates and times manually.
With the file I sent you - you will have to download it first then open it and you shouldn’t get an access denied.
Regards
Jon
