Hi: One more question and I'm done. Is it possible for Sailwave to
recognize that sail numbers in a sequence are from a different race?
E.g. 29ers usually do more races than other fleets and often finish
amongst another fleet. If the Lasers are finishing Race 4 and the
29ers are finishing their Race 5 can one easily tell Sailwave to put
the 29er sail numbers in Race 5? We quite often run up against this
problem and the only way I can separate the race results is by marking
the finish sheet to identify the 29ers and then enter their sail
numbers after setting SNW to Race 5.
Any ideas about my disappearing "Division" from a previous question?
Thanks
Donald
Donald,
Sorry answer is no
Sailwave has no way of knowing which race a set of results apply to, without being told. Your way of doing things is the only way as Sailwave deals in one race at a time. So if you enter results from a finish sheet which includes classes that are on a different race number you have to as I said do the separation. If you forget you will overwrite possibly results you have already entered for in example your 29er class race 5 results going into Race 4 if that is what you are dealing with for another class.
There is a check box on the SNW that switches off finding the sail number of a boat for which a result has already been entered for the race in question.
Kind regards,
Huw

A quick work around (using Outlook Express), is to hit `Reply’, to read the email.
It looks like the way Colin sent these emails causes the overlay to obscure the text. Emails from others does not have the same characteristic.
