I am using version 2.16.7 and wished to enter redress points for a boat equal to another boat. I ticked the option to not disadvantage other boats as per RRS A6.2 but Sailwave added a point to all boats placed lower: Should have scored 12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16 etc but it gave 12, 13, 14, 14, 16, 17 etc. Only by unticking the box could I get the correct scores to be recorded.
Nothing has changed in that area of Sailwave recently - so it is unlikely to be different from the the earlier version. If you could supply a sample blw file to demonstrate it then I’m sure someone will be happy to verify.

What was the score of the redress boat before it got redress? If it WAS
15 then 12, 13, 14, 14, 16 etc. was correct since the boat in 16
shouldn't change - only 15 would change to 14 and no other boats would
change.
If the score of the redress boat WAS, for example, 18 then you are right
and the new order should be 12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20 ...
Just checked and it is working as expected in 2.9.7.

Art,The boat didn’t have a score before the redress was awarded. It had to retire from the race due to damage and the redress was awarded before the race was scored. He was awarded 14th place and I needed to give him the 14 points which was the same points as the boat that was placed 14th.

In the file you sent me the RDG code does not have the A6.2 option enabled
You have given 2450 a position of 14 as well as a RDG code of 14
I think you need to enable the option and remove the position of 14 and I think you will get the results you need

Jon,I guess I’m not making the situation clear.
Boat 2450 retired from the race through damage and lodged a request for redress.
The remainder of the fleet completed as normal and so there was a place of 14th earned by boat 2370.
At the hearing boat 2450 was awarded 14 points (his position in the race at the time of the incident) as redress. So we have two boats on 14 points for race 6.
With the option A6.2 enabled the boats placed lower than 14th had an extra point added to their scores (there was no 15th, it started again at 16th) so they were disadvantaged.
Only by unticking the A6.2 option could I carry out the redress hearing’s wishes becasue Sailwave then allowed two 14th places and then started again at 15th etc.

Terry

Hi Jon,Thanks for that but now I am even more puzzled. When I do as you say it does not show a 15th place for race 6 but gives the next boat 16 points - which is where I was at the start!
I will send an email with the file attached.
Hi Jon,Plese ignore my last message. I now see what is needed. I had thought that since the Place item in the Edit Result box was not highlighted it would not be actioned but the Code box actioned instead - not in addition to the place.
All a bit confusing to us novices at this!
