Redress situation

I have a sailing question and am wondering how I should go about it.

After 5 races, an LNG tanker was coming through the harbor. The race committee told us that racing
was over for the day. Out of 6 boats, 3 boats were able to get back and de-rig. The other three
were stuck in the harbor unable to get back to the dock due to Police boats. After the LNG tanker
went through, the race committee decided to hold one more race. Three boats had already de-rigged.
The race committee told the three boats that they were going to race another race and apologized for
the confusion. All three boats did not want to re-rig due to the time it would to do so and get
back on the course even if the committee offered to troll them out. They raced one more race and
the boat which had finished behind us all day except one race actually finished first. We got a DNS
for # of racers +2 or 5 points.. One boat asked for RDG and got average points for the day.

I am wondering if I should ask for redress, which the race committee did say they would grant me
this Saturday, and call for the race to be abandoned. What do people think?

Personally, I think that the race should be abandoned as it seems like a
very bad decision to change the decision not to race at that late a stage.
