Is it possible to obtain a Rating using the Rating Estimator over all the
seasons series not just one, or is there a way of averaging the individual
series?

I've been informally acknowledging by email but I can send you a snail mail
receipt (or retrospective invoice) if you'd prefer. I will be telling the
tax-man if that's what you're getting at.... 
re: rating q - I was thinking about this the other day. Now that there is a
merge series facility is could be extended to merge a years worth of racing
and then get an estimated rating for each class with a tweak to the rating
estimator; as a side effect Sailwave will be able to handle more races per
series, which some users also want. Yes, its something I'd really like to
do and I think it would be good enough for an RYA return. However, if you
score sailors, not boats, it will be less accurate.

I forgot to say that the RYA have a beta document out at present which is a
spec for software to do RYA returns etc. I've seen the doc and commented on
it - and anything I do along the lines of the previous message will meet the
RYA spec; however, I have to pay for the privilege of the RYA testing it
before I can say so in public... One day they may even link to some scoring
software too. [Personally I think the USA Portsmouth system is better as
its much easier on the clubs - they just send in elapsed times + class info
after each series or race.]
No timescales and I must warn you that my wife is pushing hard for a
complete room by room DIY refurbishment of the house. So far I've done the
bathroom; still not finished and I started in May...
