Rotations for High School & College Competition

Been using SW this season, but this is the first time I've been asked
to score "rotations" for U.S. high school and college competitions.
Results will come to me as sail numbers for each race. Every second
race the teams will rotate to another boat. In addition there will
probably be an A and a B fleet. Any suggestions on setting this up? My
alternative is the Navy Scoring program, running in DOS and notably
user-antagonistic.
Thanks,
Robb

Hi Robb
Don't know if you have been following (& understanding!) the development of Flights & Addendum C.

The principle of flights is a rotation system of a sort.
In the 'flight' sense, helms are reassigned to flights every x races/days.
Normally there are a small number of flights, say red, blue, green & white & lots of helms.

However, if you substitute 'flight' for one of your boats & have lots & lots of flights (ie boats)
this may be a way for you to use SW - hope you are a lateral thinker

Additionally, if you were to have a group of boats which are in the red group & the rest in blue
group, all red could go in one start & blue in the other.

These thoughts may help but whether SW can be adapted, will very much depend on how the 'rotations
actually work.

Do you have SIs for the event/series or some from say last year?

Regards
Ralph

Hi Robb,

Download 1.88 and use the FLight field. You see in Edit+Competitor that the
flight field cna be set up to have a different value in each race and there
is a tool in the toold menu to rotate the flights. You should be able top
set up what you wish.
