I'm trying to upload a series to the RYA PY website using the Sailwave plugin. I first tried my old trusty v2.03b and it locked up, so I upgraded to v2.4.9. Now, at the final stage I get an error:
Version: 2.4.9
Installed: Unknown
Time: 10:36:12
Date syntax error for R1, It must be of the form dd/mm/yy.
If I look in the Edit Race screen the date is in dd/mm/yy format, and if I look at the .BLW file it is in that format.
Ideas anyone?
I'd attach the BLW file, but I'm posting from Yahoo Groups and can't see an obvious way to do it.
Incidentally, anyone used the new RYA PY site yet? It doesn't look at all like the demo at the Dinghy show, which is why I'm trying to upload through Sailwave in the first place (the show offered a CSV upload). Maybe I'm just jumping the gun and the site isn't updated yet?
The new PYS website (the one on the stand at the dinghy show) is released next Monday. If you are registered you should receive an email from RYA tech this week explaining all about the new site and the switch over. If you haven’t received anything by next Monday let me know.
I also had some problems uploading to PYS direct from sailwave and had to install an older version of sailwave for it to work. I mentioned it on here the other week but don’t think anyone else has experienced similar issues.

My problem was probably due to the recent changes in the RYA PY website. A new site was launched at the Dinghy show, and I tried to upload soon after, but apparently the public “go live” was to be last Monday hence the failure. As yet it is still showing “new site coming soon”. I’ll try again once the site is up and running.

The site is live, but I think the guys at the RYA are only releasing logins to the new site in batches. I’ve got mine, it is a huge improvement over the old one! If you email me your club id’s I can see if I can get you moved up the list.

Apologies, been away on holiday with no internet access so just picked this up. Yes it is live but unless you have had your new login you will still see the new site coming soon message.
Might be worth an email to Andy.Wibroe@rya.org.uk chasing a login if you haven’t had it yet.

I have been trying to do the RYA PYS upload thing. I cannot get any sense out of the site because by (last year’s) results do not have a date on them. The PYS help menu says to right click on the ‘race name’ and you can insert a date/time. I have tried right clicking on the ‘event’ name which is all I can find and nothing happens. Anyone know how to do this?
As an aside, I have had an email from Andy urging me to try out the site but have had no new password or user name. Using the club’s existing ID and password seems to work but then you get stuck because either ‘nothing works’ (my feelings) or ‘you are not doing it right’ (his feelings - probably (I am guessing)!)

OK… I have put the date in, gone to the PYS site where there is a login window containing my personal email and what looks like a password (7 spots). I have replaced my email with the club’s PYS ID and put in the password. Hurrah! - we are in. I am prompted to upload a file. I do and I get - ‘there is a problem with this file please try another’. And so it goes on. Total grief poured into this so far - perhaps 2 hours. I could print it and put it into an envelope more quickly! I suspect I am not using the latest version of sailwave and this set of results was compiled last year so that might be the problem but when I last tried to update I got 'cannot contact Sailwave or some such,
In sailwave if you right click the race column heading box you can edit race name and give it a date. Even if you haven’t, when you upload to PYS, it should prompt for a race date. It is important to make sure race dates are correct.
Not sure why you are struggling, need a tad more info. If you can log in to the new PYS site can you get to the upload tab. If you’ve tried this and clicked on upload from sailwave file and pointed it to your file, does anything happen?
Let me know, email your sailwave file and I’ll try uploading it to see if I can help further.
