RYA returns and Race Ratings

We are just about to do our RYA returns. It is quite common for our saliors to change class in some races which is manged witht the use of Race ratings and (Boat show effect). Before I complete the RYA return process I usually manually create additional competiors and seperate out the classes. This is very time comsuming and I was wondering what would actually happen with those results with a race rating is they we left where the were.

The 2 possible senarios I can think of are.

  1. The results for those races with a race rating are just ignorfed and not sent to the RYA.

  2. The results are sent the RYA logged against the class registered to the competior.

Can you confiorm which it is or let me know what option 3 is :grinning_face:

I have sent an email to the RYA but my contact is not in the office today.

My ‘two cents worth’ and happy to be corrected by Jon; I think what happens is your option 2.

At your club what sort of class changes are taking place?

Thanks for your quick response. We are very happy for helms to change class for a numbe of reasons, no Crew so sail a sinlge hander, Sea state too challending for usual boat, Eg Rs700 swapped for a laser, usual boat in for repair, getting ready for an open in a differnet class or new boat part way through series.
