Sail Number Wizard

Message
Hi Colin,

The Sail Num Wizard still (Ver 1.47b3) cannot take elapsed times. e.g. 00:55:15 for a race just under an hour. It seems to be accepted but I get an error message when I try to score saying non-numeric position. . . When I edit it, I find the elapsed time is stuffed into the race position box for the competitor. Using the long way around and inputting the elapsed times into their correct box all is whallah!

How do I resize the data screen window (to full size), clicking on the MS Windows square top right will enlarge or shrink the whole sailwave program window but the data box within the window stays the same size and is without drag handles. I’m running XP.

Your buttons and context menu for removing/displaying the lefthand side property bar/tree doesn’t have any effect, it just stays there!

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your feedback on the latest beta release (1.47beta3). I
am aware of the resixe problem and fixed it last night. I'll look at
the elpased time and other problrms tonight. I hope to upload beta 4
today or tomorrow with a new race data CSV import facility suitable
for interfacing to race data collection devices etc. I'll fix the
problems you uncovered in this beta.

Colin

For whatever it is worth, I just replicated it with 147b3.

Created a new series with 3 competitors, sail #'s 1, 2, 3.
Using sail # wizard, no matter what I entered the tip said looks like a
finishing position and it recorded the data as such. I used 00:45, 11:22 and
11:33 as finishing times.

Hi Bill/Roy,

Thanks. I can see it now. Sailwave is assuming, incorrectly, that if a
rating system is not chosen, you'll never enter start/finish or elapsed
times. In fact recording all elapsed times or start/finish times even for
one-design racing is useful. I'll fix it for beta4.

Roy, you can get around it for now by choosing a rating system. If it's a
one design fleet, create a custom rating system where c=e and select that.
