Sail To Rating

Hi am new to Sailwave, and have been wanting to replace our old club software. And can setup simple series races using simple TCF's

Our current software gives some other functionality :

1) 'Sail To' Rating for last race. eg IF your PHRF rating was 0.75, and you sailed well your calulated sail to rating might be 0.77 ( I think this is calcuated against the 25% boat e.g 4th boat if there were 16 boats in the fleet. Is it possible to display this for each race somehow?
2) Personal Handicaps: This relates to item 1. IF you have a higher 'Sail To' rating than your existing TCF, then I want to alter the TCF (something like Current TCF + last 3 Sail To's)/4 eg the Average of lat few sail to values. So after each race in the series your handicap will go up/down according to the averages of your sail to values.

Unless I can work out some way of doing this I dont think the club will want to change software. The existing software is old and very inflexible, as wel as unstable. So I would like to be able to show how we can use sailwave.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The nearest equivalent that Sailwave has to your `Sail To’ rating is BCR (back calculated rating) or Rating to Win. Thus its based on the winning boat in a race, not a lower boat.

There is no direct method in Sailwave to automatically do your Personal Handicap - it would have to be done separately (e.g. on Excel) and then the ratings adjusted in Sailwave accordingly.
