We use a combination of a Restaurant POS, Quickbooks, and Community Builder (in our Joomla Web Site). I wish we could do something better, but systems to manage restaurants AND clubs can get pretty pricey. We have Quickbooks set up so that it tracks members and is able to send out notifications when dues are needed. Details about members are kept on the web site in Community Builder, so members can go in and edit their personal information. We have a pretty busy restaurant and bar business, so it's important to track that stuff, particularly as we bill differently for members and guests. The POS knows the members, so we can do reports on who bought what.
It's definitely not pretty, but with a little manual intervention it works for us. We are always on the hunt for better solutions, but we haven't been able to find anything that meets our needs at a price we can afford.

AEC componet on joomla (integrated with CB) would automate reminders, expire users etc, Linked to a payment gateway like paypal…
Dealing with multiple members (i,e, family members) per actual membership is a headache!!

I looked at several last year, but never found one i wanted to try to convince the board was worth the money. Here are some links to the best ones I found.

I would love to hear about your experiences with them or others.
