Sailracer interface issue

I'm trying to use the Sailracer upload for results for the ITCA travellers series and have a few issues

  1. We need to set the Organisation field to a particular value. It seems to pick up the “Venue Name” which gets put in both Organisation & Club. Is there somewhere we can put the value needed for Organisation so i dont have to change it every time we upload?

  2. The column names used are the default ones not the display ones. So when i used “Bow Number” and changed it to display “Championship Number” it was uploaded as “Bow Number”. Similarly i needed to have the helms name in a column entitled “Helm” so Sailracer will match Helm accross races to score our series.

  3. Remebering other info.

    It would be nice to be able to remember other Sailracer info (Class & Event Type), and also i’m not sure if the date range is calculated from something or just defaults to jan 1 2006 always.

I can work round all these problems but then i’m happy editing the html thats produced to fix 2). But i’m not sure that i can recomend that to others.

The remembering of values isn’t critical but just leeds to mistakes.

Just to follow up quickly on the second point, SailWave V1.9 used the column called Helm for the Helm which Sailracer picks up on. In V2.0 this has chaned to HelmName. But i guess you had realised this. If you would like me to work with Simon at SailRacer on this instead of changing Sailwave i can do that.

However i think the published names should be the visible names which we could use as a workaround then.

Not sure whether publish to SailRacer should honor the publish state in the column editor as well. It does feel to me as though it should.

Can you check with Simon what he wants - i.e. does he expect a
predefined set of names or any old names (for columns) - if the former
then i need to map to some hardwired set of names that he supplies
otherwise you’re right I need to change it to use the user names…
Presumably you need “Helm” for consistency with the past but if
somebody started using it now they could use “HelmName”…?
