Hi Colin

I tried the 1.58 beta version and good news.. no problems with ratings.
I did get 2 message screens concerning locales and not finding something but
was able to ignore those and press on.

Hi Mark (et all)

To stop the locale message, go into the global options and clear the locale
file in the Language tab. For some reason in windows 98 it gets populated
with the desktop - don't you just Windows...

In previous versions it would come back even after clearing it, but in
158aug04 it stays cleared.

Hi Colin

Yes, I can confirm the start-up appears to be error free now.

I first decided to uninstall the previous version of sailwave that
was in the c:\sailwave directory. I then noted that I still had
sailwave directory in the "c:\program files" directory and deleted
that too to ensure that nothing was left from previous installations.

I then re-installed sailwave and on start-up noted that it complained
about the ratings directory, it also came up with the message about
the locale files. I then noted the message of yours and checked the
entry in Language and deleted it. Also noted that for some reason the
selection had gone to Vietnamese or something and corrected that.
Having a look at the ratings file setup I noted that it was still
pointing at "c:\sailwave\ratings" instead of "c:\program
files\sailwave\ratings" and corrected that too.

Now all seems to be working again apart from the fact that I have
lost my ratings files and have to download them again or restore them
from backup.

Hi All,
Just a quick query that has been posed to me...
Our regatta has a large number of cruising boats who do not have a proper PY
rating. It may be necessary to change their rating during the week. If this
is done will sailwave rescore previous races with the new rating or only
subsequent races?
