[sailwave] 1.59 and Flights

Colin,
I do not have any problems with these!

Also I agree with your strategy about smaller releases.

I do worry a little bit about too many small bug version releases, but...

Anyway, beta releases is often offered only to a small group. Earlier you have just released the beta on the web. That may have caused the confusions. So, a strategy about private releases might work well... Just mark them p for private or something... I'm sure that alot of people on the SUG will test for bugs.

So, it depends on how you want it:

Bug testing=beta
Private release= New functionality testing???

SW is now growing, but it is not big enough to "make a living", wich could focus developement....

Will look at 1.59 now.

Regards
Martin

Martin/Ralph,

You've possibly misinterpreted me. I have cut short recent developments
(there is a lot of half finished stuff in 1.59 that is hidden away at the
moment) which were not flight based, because they were taking too long. The
idea behind getting 1.59 out now is specifically so I can include the flight
features/fixes you want (and other bug fixes) in the short term; days or
weeks... It would have been months otherwise...

Martin, yes, next version will be 1.60, and they will just bump up each time
(no more beta confusion). Most will be private releases to the SUG, some
will also be public releases on the web site.

I expect to regularly release versions from now on, each with with small
increments in functionality... the big bang approach failed.

Regards,
Colin

OK.
A little bit disappointed, but I do understand.

So, next release is 1.6?

Any perspective on release of flight fixes?

Martin

  1.59 and Flights

Ralph, Martin et al. No changes to flights but the whole point
of getting
this release out is so that I can actually work on stuff like
that. Mark,
the DNC weirdness should be fixed.
