[sailwave] 1.95b5

Thanks, Colin.

The tooltip is quite good. But, on my computers they disappears long before I've read them through...

I'm only considered about avoiding confusions in this case, and I think it's done!

Just another: Checking the "do not recalc the Q Race...". If you allow 2 discards throughout the series, and allow 1 in the finals, then you might come to the situation that one discard "moves" from Q to Final race.... Then the Q series actually are recalculated, or...?

Hi Martin,

You are right in what it does; it's specifying the maximum (I've added
"maximum" to the tooltip) number of the total available discards that *can*
(not must) come from the finals after 1,2,3... finals races have been
sailed.

I've changed the prompt to something similar to your suggestion to avoid
confusion. My implementation POV can often be too clinical (both 'profiles'
are fed into the same algorithm cos they have the same basic syntax - but
you're are right, the semantics are different.

Note that a value of "0" means that no discards can come from the finals (a
max of 0) and a blank value means "no rescriction".

It may be the case that a checkbox is needed at some stage to change the
interpretation to "at least this many must come from the finals"... but Add
C (20.4(c)) is not like that at present...

Colin

Hi, colin.

Then it doesn't work correct.

Now it's like this:

If the series discard is set to .0,0,1,1,2

and Final discard = 2

Then UP TO 2 discard are allowed in the final races. BUT it is not
necessarily that the discards are done in the final races, they might be
done in the quals if these are worse races. So, I suggests renaming to "How
many discards are allowed in the Final Races".

This will be consisten even if you use a profile like 0,1,2....

(Or, do I misunderstand?)

Hi Maartin,

Not sure I follow you. It's like the normal discard profile, x discards
when 1 finals sailed, 2 discards when 3 finals sailed...

Hi, colin!

In Scoring system "Finals and Medal races" folder, I suggest that the
field "finals discard profile" should change name. It's not a "discard
profile", it's just an option to say "How many discards is possible from

the

final races?"

Martin

F2 shows you them ass as text.

Just another: Checking the "do not recalc the Q Race...". If you allow 2

come to the situation that one discard "moves" from Q to Final race.... Then

That's OK - the discards are always rediscovered, it's just the Q points
that are not recalculated.
