[sailwave] Alias problem

John

Thanks for that, aliasing now sorted, however moving on this has given me two more problems, trying to import results from a csv table, sail no seems to require the full number including
letters, not just the numerals, and with alias entries it errors because it finds two entries with the same number, are there any simple answers, just trying to automate as much as possible for the scorer

Thanks

John

Hi John,

The problem with your file is although you have created an Alias of the competitors you haven’t told sailwave which it is a competitor of

If you use the Edit - New competitor aliasing this is automatic

But the way you have created it you need to set which competitor it is an alias of.

Hi John,

Sorry to hear of your problem. I am willing to help, so could you send me a copy of the Sailwave file please.

Kind regards,

Huw

Trying to extract a class from a fleet . All boats entered under the fleet name IRC, The class boats are entered again (using New Like) with fleet name changed to their class name (Jboat) and marked @ (1) in the alias column. Under
Race, two starts set up, one under IRC, one under Jboat, both with same start time and both with Finishes set as finish time.

Sail number Wizard used to enter finish times which show only in the fleet IRC but not in the alias Jboat. On Score Series , Grouping Field set to Fleet. Published results show IRC results correctly (Finish, Elapsed, Corrected). The
separate Jboat Class results just show Place as a blank. I realise there is something I am not doing right for the entered times not applying to the alias boats, but what please.

Thanks

Hi John,

There is no need for the Sailno to be alphanumeric There is a Nat field for the Nationality and the Sailno field for the number

You can if you wish put them all in the Sailno but that is not what I would recommend.

If you have the Nat separate then you can also publish country flag

There is also the Alternative Sailno field available for use.
