I'm not getting anywhere with this software and no replies to my requests for help , does anyone know of any other software that an idiot can use and not get tangled up in frustrating knots ?

Hi Simon,
What are these knots you are having difficulty with? I have only seen
two posts on this board from you, one of which was answered. Your
particular handicap system may be something Sailwave at present
cannot do, it is not one I have come across so far. Check the online
FAQ there may be something there. Colin is generally very receptive
to enhancement requests but remember that Sailwave is done in his
spare time.
I have found this board very useful in solving the few problems I
have had with Sailwave.
Keep trying it will be worth it.

The USSA web site has a pretty complete review of scoring software. However you’ll see that they find Sailwave “very straightforward” to use; so I doubt you’d find anything easier - but you would find fully documented software - e.g. TopYacht and RaceSail…
What are your specific knots? I have memories of replying to you but perhaps I’m just remembering the message and perhaps I’ve not got to it yet - I regularly come home to tens personal Sailwave emails which is why the SUG is such a great place; I’d sink without it…
Sailwave cannot do club specific handicap systems; because its too ad hoc; however there is scope to add a generic facility that you could manipulate with the appropriate expressions. I have some some specific development like the Y&Y and Volvo Prize plug-in but they involve a deal of some sort…
