I’m the Vice Commodore at St Leonards Yacht Club and Motor Squadron in Victoria, Australia. We are moving to Sailwave and looking forward to ditching our old XL based system.
I’m keen to learn how Sailwave manages personal handicaps. Our old systems selects the best three performances of the last 5 and averages those to create a personal handicap. Its updated after each race pretty much automatically. I’m hoping to be able
to replicate something like this in Sailwave.
Can anyone point me to some documentation on how to set something like this up?

I'm thinking of useing AVEBCR(5). I don't know if sailwave can look at past series for resullts. for example, when I start a new series it would be great to automatically carry forward the personal handicap from the previous one. Maybe excel is the way to here.
Cheers and thanks for your help
Cheers

I recently had to handicap our National Championships for a handicap prize.
I set all competitors rating to 1 initially (using TCF), then scored the series after four races. I averaged the BCR and used it from there on.
Only problem was the one competitor who had a disastrous race in that group, then came through to win.
At club level, we adjust handicaps manually periodically.
You could export Sailwave's BCR's into Excel and use your past methods.
I, too would be intereted any tips, tricks or formulae that others use. I have noted Sailwave's options, but have not had a play.
