I have successfully published on our club’s website using the following process:
– Agree with the webmaster on a file naming convention. For example, we called last year’s Wednesday series something like PYC_2011_Weds. Make the file name unusual enough that no one else is likely use the same name.
– On the club website, create a page that has a link to http://results.sailwave.com/your_file_name.htm (substituting the agreed-upon file name. Note the underscores in the filenames, no spaces are allowed and case matters)
–In the Sailwave Publish dialogs, set the Destination to the Sailwave results datastore. This sends the html Sailwave results file to Sailwave’s Results server.
Once you have done this, visitors to the club’s website can see the results by clicking on the link. To see an example of this in action, you can go to www.pequotyc.com then click on Sailing and Race Results
There are several advantages to this technique:
–RC can post results directly, no webmaster involvement required once it has been set up.
–As the series progresses, you can publish updated results simply by over-writing the existing results files.
Note that this method is convenient but not 100% secure. It would be possible for a malicious ftp user to replace the file you sent with a different file, which would be displayed in place of your results.
Also there have been occasions when Sailwave’s ftp server does not accept files. This is usually resolved within a few hours if I mention it in this forum.

Malcolm,
Thanks for sharing your difficulties. I have used an FTP client to transfer
things from file with my website but once I got it working it was possible
to do it more or less with one click through the website application that I
use. I thought that Sailwave had this facility built into it and working but
